Due to continued growth in our operations, we are seeking new personnel to join our project teams. We now require LAN ADMIN for one of our projects in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.

Basic Function

Provides technical support to the In-Kingdom project team members on various computer workstations, peripherals, network and PMT applications support requests and issues. ?

Scope

Under the general direction of the IM Computer/PMT Applications Services Group Lead, this position is responsible for performing functions that support PMT users in their day-to-day use of desktop workstations, printers, faxes, scanners, and communication devices. Additionally, first line help desk support is provided for access to and use of the PMT applications running in the Project?s data center. ?Provides second line support functions within the PMT applications suites. Performs problem analysis for all aspects of client complaint to determine and apply the most expedient resolution.

The incumbent performs routine and complex functions with little supervision. Supports local PMT workstation users for application, hardware, and network access. Deals with In-Kingdom PMT members for PMT application access and operation via telephone and email. Works with Aramco enterprise network, MS Exchange, and security administrators. ?PMT must maintain near 100% responsiveness from the IT/IM support functions in support of multi-billion dollar projects.

The incumbent is multidisciplined - workstation hardware, O/S and network support; able to use Microsoft Office applications at an intermediate level; have a working knowledge of network support for data and voice, Ethernet and Wi-Fi; interface with Aramco communications personnel for telephone provisioning and support; be able to document problems and create procedures.

Daily contact with personnel in the various worldwide PMT Application Help Desks.

Frequent contact with Contractor personnel of all job types who access the PMT Applications. The purpose of these contacts is to resolve problems and answer requests for assistance in the operation of the PMT applications.

Internal

Frequent contact with PMT personnel of all job types and grade codes who access the PMT Applications. The purpose of these contacts is to resolve problems and answer requests for assistance in the operation of the PMT applications.

Frequent daily contact with PMT personnel and management who are users of the project?s desktop equipment and local area network serving the PMT.

Principal Duties

Desktop Support ? installs, maintain, trouble shoot, process? ad hoc requests for assistance??????? 35%

Provides local in-person support for computer workstations, peripherals, network services and MS Office applications. Provisions project members with PMT Applications. ?Assists with delivery and training on communications devices.

Provides telephone and email support for PMT members who use the PMT applications. Log, track and resolve problems in an expeditious manner, escalating to 2nd level application support when necessary.?

  • Log and escalate applications problems; follow up on status ? use problem ticketing and tracking system.
  • Password reset ? Interface Management System, YERProject.com, DvTDM
  • Issue new user credentials & password; assist user with Self-Help password registration
  • Navigation and basic use of PMT applications
  • Disable user accounts upon request of the YERP Security Coordinator or Management
  • Conduct remote desktop sessions using WebEx and a variety of other tools to investigate & resolve problems, perform desktop activities on behalf of clients, and demonstrate navigation and usage of desktop applications, OS, PMT applications

  • Other activities require coordination with other IM team members, PMT members, PMT management, Aramco Help Desk, and outside vendors
  • Maintain inventory of project in-kingdom IT assets
  • Develop deployment and provisioning plans to accommodate movement of project personnel from location to location. Coordinate execution with representatives identified by IM management.
  • Coordinate Video Conferencing? among all the project management teams
  • Manage and issue Blackberry / mobile telephones. Set up profiles, provide training for use
  • Create knowledge base and FAQs related to desktop and PMT applications
  • Analyze trends from TopDesk (trouble ticketing system) to determine weak points in support or procedures
  • Develop and document procedures related to workstation operation, work flows and application navigation

Minimum Requirements

  1. ?High school diploma and military or industry certifications in any: OS support, desktop application, Networking, Novell, MCSE, MSCT or similar. Certification need not be current, but is desirable. Five years experience in any combination of 1. Desktop support, 2. Applications Support, 3. Systems Analysis, 4. LAN Administration.

  1. Must be able to communicate accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined.

  1. Demonstrate abilities in problem analysis and resolution. ?Emphasis will be placed on the ability to deal patiently with people, analyze a problem quickly, diagnose, and propose a solution in a short time. Working with people from varied nationalities requires an open mind, tact, and courtesy. Must have a strong work ethic, be prompt, and work as part of a team.
